Below you will see my two images from Wordle. The first is captioned with "2000", the second with "2008". The image labeled 2000 is a demonstration of NETS.S standards and performance indicators. What I found in the 2000 guidelines was a dedication to productivity. It seemed to focus on what the teachers and students could get out of using technology and how it can be used to increase collaboration. Although that is a positive application of technology, the 2008 standards seem to focus more and the development of student learning and growth. I think this is a great direction for the technology world to take because student development in this area will continue to take our country and our educational system exponentially further each year. If we can properly teach our youth the practical and impactful application of technology instead of using just social media and games, our development as a system will be able to grow.
