rezscore.com is a great resource for improving your resume before you send it out to employers. The first time I submitted my resume, it received a B-. As I followed their tips to improve my resume, I felt like it was an incredibly impersonal way to grade a resume, but I fixed as they had asked. However, when I re-submitted it, I got a B. Clearly, my corrections weren't to the degree it was expecting.
I have spent quite a lot of time working on my resume over the years. With this resume (with updates of course) I have landed two full time positions with benefits, two graduate assistantships and several seasonal positions. I am happy with the way my resume looks and I will continue to use and update it as necessary. There are a lot of opinions about how a resume should look and what it should contain, and I think this website was a great resource for tweaking resumes. However, I would not base my resume changes solely on the outcome of this website's grade.
